Why Jane Bravo?

One dark and boring night in 2005, sitting alone thinking about life and how weird it is, Sarah Dawood/ Drama wrote her first blogpost as Jane Bravo. What started out as a private ranting space, slowly and gradually evolved into the current blog, which talks about many events, things, and feelings. Just like all of Sarah's other social media platforms, also about many events, things, and feelings --- Instagram: thesarahdawood | snapchat: thesarahdawood | twitter: @SarahDawood | facebook: /groups/TheCoddiwomple

Hi fellow humans!

Hmmm... I read the most interesting quote a few days ago. I don't remember who it's by, or if it's from a book, but it's stuck in my head and makes total sense from all angles...

It goes-

" You can have anything you want in life, just as long as you give up everything else. "

I have reflected on my life quite deeply after reading this, and I fully agree. All is within reach. All is possible. You can have that one thing you want most, but forget about all other things. It's like a thin line being drawn in my head. One that defines two parallels- One is Wisdom, and the other is Madness. And have we all not at one point chosen one above the other?

Reflect, please.

I think this quote hits the nail on the head of the fundamental human problem which seems to be that of wanting, sometimes in fact demanding to have one's cake and eat it too.

That is, we seem almost hopelessly inclined as a species to desire to have things and circumstances that are either inherently contradictory( for example, complete freedom and complete security at the same time) or are, for some more particular reason, impossible to obtain (as in the case of a relationship which has many good qualities but is not 100% to our liking 100% of the time).

Learning to recognize and deal with the fact that having one's cake and eating it too is not possible is probably the main task we all face in coming to a healthier and happier adjustment to life.
